How Long Does a Kitchen Remodel Take? A Week-by-Week Timeline
A realistic kitchen remodel timeline from design to final walkthrough — how long each phase takes and how to keep your project on schedule.
Most of our kitchen remodels take about 3–6 weeks of on-site work. The total time from first visit to finished kitchen depends mostly on cabinet lead times. Here's what to expect.
Phase 1: Design & selections (1–2 weeks)
Showroom visit or in-home measurement, free 3D design, choosing cabinets, stone, tile and fixtures, and approving your quote.
Phase 2: Ordering (1–8 weeks)
In-stock cabinet lines arrive in about 1–2 weeks. Semi-custom lines typically take 4–8 weeks. We schedule your demolition so there's no long gap without a kitchen.
Phase 3: Demolition & rough-in (week 1)
Old kitchen out, floors protected, plumbing and electrical updated, walls repaired.
Phase 4: Cabinets & countertops (weeks 2–3)
Cabinets installed and leveled, countertops templated, then installed about 1–2 weeks later.
Phase 5: Finishes (weeks 3–5)
Backsplash, sink and faucet, lighting, hardware, paint and final touches.
Phase 6: Walkthrough
We walk through everything with you and make sure every door and drawer is perfect.
Quick answers
Can I use my kitchen during the remodel?
For most of the project, no — but we'll help you plan a temporary kitchen with your fridge and microwave.
What delays kitchen remodels?
Late selections, backordered items, and surprises behind walls in older homes. We plan for these up front.
